Ali’s (ع) status in the eyes of the holy Prophet (ص)

It is narrated from Imran bin Husain that the Messenger of Allah (ص) said:

﴿ عَلِيٌّ مِنِّي وَأَنَا مِنْهُ، وَهُوَ وَلِيُّ كُلِّ مُؤْمِنٍ مِنْ بَعْدِي ﴾

"Ali is from me and I am from him, and he is the guardian (Wali) of every believer after me"

Ibn Athir Jazari (Asad al-Ghabah V.4, page 27) has narrated this hadith as follows:

“Verily Ali is from me and I am from Ali, and he is the guardian of every believer after me.”
